One of the Objectives of Canadian Immigration Law continues to be Family Reunification
Family class sponsorship is available to individuals who wish to sponsor members of their immediate family. Close or immediate family members comprise of (parents, grandparents Moratorium by the Minister pending changes to the program), children under 22 years of age, dependent children over the age of 22 years who are studying, spouses, common law and same-sex partners, orphaned siblings, nephews/nieces and adopted children who are under 18.
A Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident who does not have any member of his/her immediate family mentioned above in Canada may be able to sponsor any family member or relative on a once-in-a-lifetime basis.

A spouse or common-law partner and their dependent children may be sponsored from within Canada
Please note that this program is not available to Parents and granparents until new regulation announced by Minister.
